Tree trimming

Today we got our Christmas tree. Usaully we go out in the woods and get our own, but when we woke up this morning the snow/rain was blinding and we couldn't see anything else. Later in the day we went to get the tree from the lot... and ended up getting two, one for upstairs and one for the living room. They are both small trees but are nice. We also stopped at a Saturday market and got some nice homeade gifts! We also got out our Christmas lights out and are having a fun time at home! We are waiting for Aurora to come home from the Christmas parade where she walked with the swim team.

The Nutcracker

We were in Bend all day, and it was a nice, but snowy afternoon. It just happened to be the very same day of the Central Oregon Nutcracker ballet. Oh we couldn't help ourselves.... we had to go to it! Not that we hadn't gone before, but it was always a enchanting spell and joy to all that watch it. And we were right. Every moment it had its delicate but strong feel to it. It is good to see local people produce a quality show. Really wonderful, and it was worth the slippery roads!

Thanksgiving and beyond

Fall is here and has its cold nights, that we so dearly love. But it also brings wonderful memories and new ones to be made...... Thanksgiving! With our family this year we enjoyed many lovely dinners, as well as having our cousins from the valley come and celebrate with us. We had lots of laughs and pumpkin pie! Sang songs and did skits, lots of fun. Since Thanksgiving is here, means Christmas and winter are not far behind. Making gifts and goodies, warmth and love is spread through the house. The Holidays only come once a year so we all are making the best of then, and the cold. If you are chicken owners like us you know that frozen water and more food are things that come along with the freezing temperatures.

As a family we do puzzles each year around this time. We also read  the"Lord of the Rings" (while doing the puzzles) which we all enjoy very much.

Puppy Chaos

New, newer, and newest! We have three puppies in our house at the moment and they might be fun, and loving, but they are also energetic and Exhausting. First came Rudi in January. We rescued him from a family moving out of town, and he is now our loving Beast! He is a German wirehaired pionter - standard poodle mix and is 98 pounds of red curly hair and haunting yellow eyes. He is our firm protector. Our newer one Lanie, a chihuahua mix, has been a small but great friend for Rudi. Willow rescued her as a two pound pup from the animal shelter. She is now 6 pounds and a wiry Green eyed girl, who loves to snuggle under the covers! The newest arrival is Miss Marley Mae. She is a Heinz57, and right now very much a puppy-- just six weeks old and needs constant supervision. (well they all do). We Love them So much, though it is a crazy household sometimes!

Everybody having fun!

Beautiful Central Oregon

The wonders of the world are everywere, and there are many here in Central Oregon. From desert to river, from field to grassland, wonders are lurking all around you. Beautiful flowers, trees of plenty, grass of green... growing under a sky of blue. Look at it. Breathe it in. (I took all of these pictures--Willow)

So many books, So little time..........

There's nothing I like better than sitting at home in my favorite chair, right next to the fire, with a good book.
Many days have been spent re-reading the Little house series, Nancy Drew and Boxcar Children mysteries, and many more! Anyone who tells you that you can't learn much from these types of books is ENTIRELY wrong! I have helped my Dad solve countless crossword puzzle clues, just by knowing Laura Ingall's favorite poem, where she lived in what year, and so forth. The only problem for me, is that there is not enough time to read all the books I want to! Recently, I have started on more dramatic books. Such as: Harry Potter, (I finished them in a week and a half), and Percy Jackson (less than a week). My brother Jasper started me on them, and says I shall soon move on to the Ranger's apprentice series. Percy Jackson definitely started me on Mythology! Jazzy and I have decided who in our family would be children of what God/Goddess.
Jasper is a brain child of Athena.
I am the Daughter of Poseidon.
We often have little sessions on the books, like this morning Jazz asked me what I thought my Patronus would be if I were in Harry Potter! After some thought, I came up with two: A Robin, like my middle name, or an Otter.
Jasper says his would be a Wolverine....... I'm not too sure about that though............... :)

This afternoon we'll be taking a trip to Bend for some shopping, and Mama's Old Testament class at Kilns College, and B&N for a new book for me! I will then speak to NO ONE for the remainder of the Book!
(some peace and quiet for once)! ;)

Well, that's only one fraction of me. The rest will have to wait for another post.
Aurora.

A nice warm welcome

Hmm... the nice warm mixture of whole wheat, water, sugar and salt. Homemade bread is one of our favorite things to share together, we LOVE the taste, the look, and the empty tray waiting to be filled again. Everything you make at home has it's own zing to it... and it is always SO exciting. Soup and candle add a little something.
Welcome!

Hi, I'm Willow and this is the start of our family blog!
